My name is Hayden LaCelle. I’m a college student out of the college town of Pullman, Washington. When I set out to build a managed telephony service, it started out with curiosity about telephony tech. But, as I worked on the foundation of this more and more, it made me think of a problem.
Small businesses and content creators are running real operations. They’re invoicing clients, fielding commission inquiries, managing brand partnerships, and building professional relationships every day. But the phone number they use for business communications? Their personal cell phone number. The one they use to communicate with their friends and family. The one they have their personal bank accounts linked to. The one where many two-factor authentication codes are sent (and thus, vulnerable to SIM swapping). And if that cell phone number gets leaked, they’ve just made themselves a lot of new friends that they probably didn’t want.
That’s not a sustainable way to operate as one grows, and I don’t feel that the solutions that exist today really solve that problem. Most virtual phone services hand you a number and a login, and leave you to figure out the rest. You’re configuring your own call routing, setting up your own voicemail, troubleshooting your own connection issues, and whatever else you can imagine that comes with a phone service. The complications multiply ten-fold if you’re building your own phone system from scratch, because now you have federal FCC regulations, Universal Service Fund contributions, state E911 excise taxes, CPNI obligations, and Robocall Mitigation Database filings. Those aren’t optional for businesses who provide voice services in any way shape or form – the problem is that most DIY phone system setups ignore those entirely, or, let’s be honest, they just don’t know.
Now to finally get to what I’ve been hinting at here… the Managed Business Phone Line service from LaCelle 3 Media LLC is what I’ve been working on. It’s, well, a business phone line that we manage on your behalf (shocking, I know.) You get a dedicated phone number (or, we’ll even let you port one in if you wish!), professional call screening, voicemail delivered to your email, E911 emergency service, and a caller ID name that shows your business name, rather than just a city name or number, when you call out*. We configure it, we maintain it, and we handle every change you need through our Telephony Service Desk. You just focus on your business and answering your calls.
Every client is onboarded on carrier-grade VoIP infrastructure with full STIR/SHAKEN call authentication, active E911 PSAP routing, and 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline routing, which is all managed by our upstream carrier. LaCelle 3 Media LLC is registered with the FCC and USAC, filed in the Robocall Mitigation Database, and compliant with Washington state E911 and 988 excise tax obligations. We did the compliance work, so you don’t even have to think about it.
I took the time and spent months researching, registering, and building this out correctly with written confirmation from state regulators, with federal filings in place, binding tax rulings from the Washington State Department of Revenue, and a completed service agreement that’s honest and transparent. I don’t feel like just throwing a phone number at you, and not just random features, but a line with great, reliable infrastructure and sensical features.
So, what makes this different from other virtual phone services?
Most virtual phone services, like Grasshopper, Google Voice for Google Workspace, and RingCentral are build around self-service. They give you a dashboard and expect you to become a VoIP administrator. That’s fine if you want to learn the technology and have the time, but the reality is that a lot of businesses just don’t.
We’re built around the opposite philosophy. Our client’s don’t log into a configuration panel to set up their call flow. They tell us what they need, we handle it, and that’s that. Changes go through our Telephony Service Desk. Questions get answered by a real person (primarily me, for now). Urgent issues reach a live operator 24/7 through our phone line.
The technology stack underneath is sophisticated. Ring Group call screening, IVR configuration, caller ID override, voicemail-to-email routing, STIR/SHAKEN Attestation A on all outbound calls, etc. Our clients never touch any of it.
The service is also built with growth in mind. You start with a single local line. Add business hours routing, call hunting, a conference bridge, or a virtual fax number as your needs evolve. For clients in the Pullman, WA and Moscow, ID areas who want a physical desk phone, we’ll come set it up on-site**. The infrastructure scales with the client, and the Telephony Service Desk is there at every step.
So, who is this for, exactly?
I’ve built this service with two kinds of clients in mind.
The first is the content creator or freelancer who is running a real business (think of taking commissions, working with brands, fielding press inquiries) but doing it all through their personal phone number. These clients need professional infrastructure without the overhead of managing it themselves.
The second is the small business (think a local shop, a restaurant, a service provider) that wants a professional phone presence without hiring an IT person to manage it. A number that answers professionally, routes calls intelligently, and lets them focus on their business rather than their technology.
If either of these sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
